Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central depiction of a Kriegsmarine torpedo boat cutting through waves, with its bow extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Souval, Vienna, measuring 53.08 mm (w) x 60.30 mm (h), weighing 42.0 grams, with loss of finish evident throughout in addition to minor oxidation, in very fine condition.
