(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz II. Klasse 1914). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1940-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, situated above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse retaining two of four attachment prongs, in turn connecting to a period original ribbon, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid, measuring 30.46 mm (w) x 30.68 mm (h), weighing 7.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
