Romania, Kingdom. An Order of Michael the Brave, I Class Grand Commander, c.1941

(Ordinul Mihai Viteazul); Order of Michael the Brave, III Issue (1941-1944), 1st Class, with Coat of Arms of Michael I, in silver gilt and enamels, 60.5mm x 60.5mm, slightly vaulted, pin marked "7 SILBER 42"; with very fine enamel work, additionally dates and crown on obverse being hand engraved; the cross is not maker marked, but most likely maker is C. F. Zimmermann, of Pforzheim. A highest military decoration of the Kingdom of Romania, with only fifteen (15) being awarded during WW2, and mostly to distinguished German military leaders (a list of notable recipients include; Erwin Rommel; Hermann Göring; Erich von Manstein; Walther von Brauchitsch). In extremely fine condition and extremely rare.
