(Heer Tarnjacke). An exceptionally well-preserved Heer camouflage smock constructed of a weather-proofed rayon-blended cloth. The exterior is dyed in a classic Sumpfmuster (marsh pattern) mottle consisting of a light brown base overlaid by irregular patterns of dark brown and green, interspersed with dark green splinters. It features a hood and open chest flanked on each side by reinforced eyelets for the accommodation of a drawstring. The cuff of each sleeve has an integral strap perforated with a reinforced buttonhole, in turn meeting two zink buttons for an adjustable fit. The waistband is flanked by flaps to allow the wearer to access pockets set into an underlying uniform. An additional hollow channel is set into the waistband with dual front openings for the addition of a belt strap. The interior is fully unfinished and demonstrates bleed from the exterior dye. Unmarked, the smock measures approximately 64 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 62 cm, and an overall body length of 83 cm. As an unissued example, the collar and waistband were never issued with a drawstring or strap, respectively. This superb example is in a near mint condition.
