(Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, the reverse bearing an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE HEIMKEHR DES MEMELLANDES 22. MÄRZ 1939” (“IN MEMORY OF THE HOMECOMING OF MEMELLAND 22 MARCH 1939”), unmarked, measuring 31.92 mm in diameter, weighing 17.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing an embossed and gilded German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted maroon velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue to the case, in overall extremely fine condition.
