United Kingdom. A Silver India Medal to Naick Narayan Singh, 14th Infantry

Instituted April 1, 1896. In silver, full size, rim engraved 1064 Naick Narayan Singh, 14th B.I. Inf., worn on replacement ribbon with clasp DEFENCE OF CHITRAL 1895, a few edge knocks, light wear, lovely patina, remains in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Narayan Singh served in the 14th King George’s Own Ferozepore Sikhs. He is identified as a Subadar-Major in the Indian Army List of April 1922. His previous ranks include jemadar (January 27 1907), Subadar (August 17 1912), and Subadar-Major (October 2 1920).
