Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of three badges, including:

1. A Gau Essen Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of a pair of crossed hammers bearing dates “1925-1935”, overlaid by a sword bearing a mobile swastika on the handle grip, the reverse with a vertical pinback, maker marked “HOFFSTÄTTER, BONN” measuring 30 mm (w) x 54 mm (h), demonstrating pinback repair, in near extremely fine condition.

2. A 1934 Ost-Hannover NSDAP anniversary badge, constructed of bronze, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 52 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

3. A 1936 Strength through Joy Atlantic trip badge, constructed of bronze, horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “RETTENMAIER, SCHWÄB.-GMÜND”, measuring 42 mm (w) x 36 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
