Germany, Luftwaffe. A Pilot and Observer Badge, by Imme and Sohn

(Flugzeugführer- und Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of partially-gilded nickel-silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “IMME” for Imme & Sohn, Berlin,measuring 65.17 mm (w) x 52.26 mm (h), weighing 43.2 grams, a superb and high-quality “Type 3b” example in extremely fine condition.
