Germany, Third Reich. A Rare Peoples’ Federation of Germans in Hungary Membership Badge

(Volksbund der Deutschen in Ungarn Mitgliedsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse bearing a white enameled disc overlaid by a gilded sunwheel-style mobile swastika with scarcely-perceptible grooves dividing the arms, set within a red enameled ring bearing a black inscription of “VOLKSBUND DER DEUTSCHEN IN UNGARN” (“PEOPLES’ FEDERATION OF GERMANS IN HUNGARY”), the reverse with a boutonniere-style attachment apparatus, unmarked, measuring 25 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor flecking and scratching to the enamels, a scarce badge in near extremely fine condition.
