(Oldenburger Haus- und Verdienstorden Komturkreuz mit Etui). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August. (1839-1920 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central blue enameled medallion bearing a raised gilt monogram of Peter Frederick Louis, within a ring of red enamel bearing a gilt inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), the reverse with a central white enameled medallion bearing a hand-painted Oldenburg coat of arms, the arms bearing gilt dates of “21. MAI 1829”, “27 NOV. 1838”, “6. JUL. 1785”, and “11. JAN. 1755” clockwise beginning from the three o’clock arm, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a crown suspension, in turn culminating in a suspension ring accompanied by two period original lengths of ribbon, accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the interior with a padded red satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted and depressed two-piece medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 82 mm (w) x 130 mm (l) x 30 mm (h), the decoration demonstrating minor tarnishing and flecking of enamels, in overall near extremely fine condition.
