Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver and brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 43.13 mm (w) x 54.21 mm (h), weighing 36.2 grams, demonstrating a consistent patina throughout the wreath, a striking example in extremely fine condition.
