Italy, Kingdom. An Eritrean Army Corps (Askaris) Medal

Instituted 1936. In bronze, the obverse bearing an Askari solider running with a rifle in hand, encircled by the inscription “CORPO D’ARMATA ERITREO”, (translation: ERITREAN ARMY CORPS) the reverse bears the dates and battles the Askaris participated in, measuring 36 mm in diameter, on period ribbon, light wear, a scarce award in very fine condition.
