Germany, Luftwaffe. An An Award Document for a Transport Clasp in Bronze to Feldwebel Ernst Kleist, Stalingrad KIA

(Verleihungsurkunde zur Frontflugspange für Transportflieger in Bronze). Constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, named to Feldwebel Ernst Kleist (according to the stamped Feldpost number, assigned to Kampfgruppe z.b.V. 105), issued at headquarters on 12 March 1942, featuring the handwritten signature of Oberstleutnant Emil Deffner (German Cross in Gold, 27 July 1942), measuring 148 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Feldwebel Ernst Kleist was killed in action on 8 December 1942 over Pitomnik Airfield inside the Stalingrad pocket when his Ju 52 aircraft was downed by Soviet fighters.
