A set of Sub Lieutenant epaulettes with carrier featured on page 144 in John Angolia’s series on the Kriegsmarine; silvered fouled Kriegsmarine anchor insignia affixed to the padded fine gold coloured bullion upper; large raised gold-coloured bullion wire ridge with an intricate design of repeating rows of bullion; the ridge is flanked by silver 15 mm wide coloured bullion strips; a hole with brass eyelet for attachment of the epaulette to the uniform; underside patted with navy coloured felt, stitched together with black thread; measuring 118 mm x 150 mm each; on a protective platform carrier incorporating a stiff frame, wrapped in light blue cotton fabric featuring gradients on either end for placement of the epaulettes; epaulettes secured in place on either side by light blue straps on the raised platform for the inserted epaulette tabs - a third light blue cotton strap sewn in place in the centre acts as a carrying handle; platform is stamped in black ink with “Musterschutz - D.R.G.M. No.226159”. (Design Protection / Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster), light blue paper wrapped underside with "Warnung!" (Warning) proper usage label affixed, the platform measuring 220 mm x 350 mm; Epaulettes in overall better than very fine condition, carrier fabric lightly stained from age with carrier straps starting to become loose but overall near very fine condition.
