Item #G54950

$850
(Flugzeugführerabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 64.13 mm (w) x 53.09 mm (h), weighing 44.5 grams, some loss of finish is evident, the reverse of the eagle demonstrates wear, and the pinback has been bent presumably by the recipient to fit his tunic, nice old patina, in overall very fine condition.
