Germany, Wehrmacht. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, by Steinhauer & Lück

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “4” for Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 36.68 mm (w) x 44.08 mm (h), weighing 33.6 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish throughout which has exposed to tombak base, in near extremely fine condition.
