(Abzeichen). A lot of three service badges, including:

 

1. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, bearing a mark of “1” indicating manufacture by F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 47.05 mm (w) x 60.75 mm (h), weighing 24.0 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of silver finish, in better than very fine condition.

 

2. A second Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Brüder Schneider, Vienna, measuring 46.56 mm (w) x 61.18 mm (h), weighing 30.4 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of silver finish, in very fine condition.

 

3. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, unmarked, measuring 36.64 mm (w) x 44.33 mm (h), weighing 25.5 grams, demonstrating total loss of silver finish with minor oxidation, in very fine condition.
