1. Italy, Kingdom. A Merit Medal for the Messina Earthquake 1908 (Medaglia commemorativa al merito per il terremoto di Messina 1908.) Instituted in 1910. In silvered zinc, engraver marked "S.J" on the obverse, measuring 31.5 mm in diameter, spotting, original ribbon, in fine condition.
2. Italy, Kingdom. A Medal for the Wars of Independence & the Unity of Italy,, c.1866 (Medaglia per le guerre d'Indipendenza e l'Unità d'Italia). Instituted 1865. Circular medal in silver, obverse bear the left facing head portrait of Vittorio Emanuele II and “VITTORIO EMANUELE II RE D’ITALIA” (VITTORIO EMANUELE II KING OF ITALY), the reverse centre bears a crowned woman figure holding a spear and shield and is inscribed with “GUERRE PER L’ INDIPENDENZA E L’UNITA D’ITALIA” (WARS FOR INDEPENDENCE AND UNITY OF ITALY), on a green, white and red striped ribbon, measuring 32 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), very fine.
