Spain, Spanish State. A Rare Medal of the Russian Campaign, Officer’s Version

(Medalla de la campaña de Rusia). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a detailed Spanish national eagle, overlaid by a central 1939 Iron Cross executed in silvered bronze with black enamel, the obverse featuring a circular chain link wreath topped by a crown, surrounding a central raised depiction of the Novgorod Kremlin, above an inscription of “RUSIA 1941”, unmarked, measuring 35.28 mm (w) x 49.26 mm (h), weighing 27.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a rare Officer’s decoration in extremely fine condition.
