(Schutzpolizei Ausweispapiere und Verleihungsurkunden). An extensive lot of identity and award documents named to Josef Künzner, a Schutzpolizei Oberwachtmeister. The group consists of:
1. A SS Soldbuch, constructed of a light card stock binding with 40 paginated interior pages, issued on 14 October 1944 and identifying Künzner as a Schutzpolizei officer in Munich, with handwritten entries indicating that Künzner was a recipient of the 1914 Iron Cross II Class, the 8-Year Long Service Decorations, the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 with Swords, the War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, and the Black Grade Wound Badge, the photo has been removed from the interior of the cover and minor material fatigue is evident, measuring 104 mm (w) x 152 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
2. A pair of labour booklets, including Künzner’s German Labour Front (DAF) membership book, constructed of a card stock binding with a marbled red exterior and girl embossed DAF logo on the cover, the interior with 32 paginated pages, featuring membership due stamps for the years 1936-1944, measuring 108 mm (w) x 154 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, and; a Weimar-era Federation of Trade Unions membership booklet, constructed of a card stock binding with a maroon canvas exterior, the interior with with 39 paginated pages indicating the book was issued for the year 1931, measuring 104 mm (w) x 150 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
3. A pair of award documents, including one for a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, named to Künzner as an Unteroffizier of 8. Batterie, Landwehr-Feldartillerie-Regiment 8, issued on 8 October 1917, measuring 204 mm (w) x 164 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, and; one for a Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class with Swords, named to Künzner as a Sergeant, issued on 21 June 1918, measuring 210 mm (w) x 165 mm (h), in very fine condition.
4. A promotion document, dated 27 February 1918 and named to Künzner as an Unteroffizier of Landwehr-Feldartillerie-Regiment 8, promoting Künzner to the rank of Sergeant, measuring 208 mm (w) x 325 mm (h), with extensive material fatigue evident, in fair condition.
5. Two photos, including a cut-down studio portrait depicting Künzner in a Schutzpolizei uniform and with his ribbon bar visible, the reverse bearing an illegible handwritten inscription, measuring 88 mm (w) x 120 mm (h), in very fine condition, and; a death card featuring a postwar portrait of Künzner, constructed of card stock and indicating that Künzner died on 11 October 1955, measuring 70 mm (w) x 110 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
6. A small group of three documents, including two birth registrations and a postwar banking statement, in near extremely fine condition.
