(Medaillen). A mixed lot of four medals, including:

 

1. A War Commemorative Medal of 1870/71 for Combatants, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 28.98 mm in diameter, weighing 13.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

2. A Saxon Friedrich August Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original combatant’s ribbon, the obverse bearing a central wreathed monogram of King Friedrich August III, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FRIEDRICH AUGUST MEDAILLE” surrounded by laurel leaves, unmarked, measuring 28.50 mm in diameter, weighing 11.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

3. A Prussian Red Cross Medal, III Class, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from a correct replacement original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised and ribbed Geneva Cross, with each arm completing in a royal crown, joined through the quadrants by initials “W-R-A-V” (“WILHELM REX AUGUSTE VICTORIA”), the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FUER VERDIENSTE UM DAS ROTHE KREUZ” (“FOR SERVICE TO THE RED CROSS”), flanked by an oak leaf branch, unmarked, measuring 33.47 mm in diameter, weighing 18.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

4. A Prussian Red Cross Medal, II Class, constructed of silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised and red enameled Geneva Cross, with each arm completing in a royal crown, joined through the quadrants by initials “W-R-A-V” (“WILHELM REX AUGUSTE VICTORIA”), the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FUER VERDIENSTE UM DAS ROTHE KREUZ” (“FOR SERVICE TO THE RED CROSS”), unmarked, measuring 33.25 mm in diameter, weighing 22.9 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
