(Feuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross with its arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST IM FEUER-LÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIRE-FIGHTING”), the obverse with white enameled arms overlaid by stylized red flames, bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a black mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 43.48 mm (w) x 47.39 mm (h), weighing 18.1 grams, demonstrating loss of silver finish throughout the base metal in addition to minor flecking of the enamels, in better than very fine condition.
