Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Grand Duchy. A Golden Wedding Anniversary Medal, c.1892

(Jubiläumsmedaille zur Goldene Hochzeit). Instituted 8 October 1892. (1892 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing raised leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Carl Alexander and Grand Duchess Sophie, the reverse bearing a combined monogram within a laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a banner bearing dates “8 OCTOBER 1842-1892”, the obverse marked “G. LOOS”, measuring 27.83 mm in diameter, weighing 14.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), with some loss of gilt evident, in near extremely fine condition.
