WWI 78th Infantry Battalion Cap Badge CEF - Blackened brass, unmarked, 38 mm x 45 mm, intact lugs, light contact, near extremely fine.  Footnote: The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Winnipeg, Manitoba under the authority of G.O. 103A, August 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed May 20, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J. Kirkcaldy with a strength of 37 officers and 1,097 other ranks. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 12th Infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division. The Battalion was disbanded September 15, 1920.
