Canada. WWI 140th Infantry Battalion Collar Tab CEF - Pickled copper, voided, unmarked, 26.5 mm x 32.7 mm, intact lugs and pin, extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in New Brunswick with mobilization headquarters at Saint John, under the authority of G.O. 151, December 22, 1915. The Battalion sailed September 27, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel L.H. Bee with a strength of 33 officers and 820 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was broken up and absorbed into the R.C.R. and P.O.C.L.I. Depots and the 13th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
