A Scarce 1840's Canadian Rifles Shako Plate - Silver plated shako plate, Maz. HP-65, 85mm H x 65mm W, a wreath of maple leaves surrounding an oval tablet bearing the regimental designation “CANADA RIFLES”, in the oval voided centre a Brass overlaid beaver, all surmounted by a Victorian Crown, early plate, circa 1840-1870. The three lug fasteners are replaced by a single brooch pin. The Unit was made upof men from British Line regiments serving in Canada. A scarce and historical plate. Fine
