Unqualified Air Gunners Badge - with dark wreath and silvered eagle (silvering mostly worn off), in zinc; unmarked; inn case of issue. Footnote:  The Unqualified Air Gunners and Flight Engineers Badge was introduced on  April 25, 1944, and was awarded to Luftwaffe personnel acting in capacity of air gunners, and had taken part in at least ten combat operations (or had been wounded in the course of these combat operations). The recipients of these badges had not qualified for the Air Gunners Badge, but were instead replacing air gunners who suffered high rate of casualties in the closing stages of the War.
