WWI 218th Infantry Battalion "Edmonton Irish" Shoulder Title - Pickled brass, maker marked "JACKSON BROS." on the reverse, 23.3 mm x 52 mm, light contact and surface oxidation, better than very fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Edmonton, Alberta with mobilization headquarters at Victoria under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed February 17, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.K. Cornwall with a strength of 32 officers and 883 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 8th Brigade, Battery Troops of the Canadian Field Artillery. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
