Contact marks, missing its suspension, near very fine.Footnote: Charles Donnan was born on February 13, 1892 in Aualoga, Ireland. He signed his Attestation Paper with the 44th Infantry Battalion, on July 16, 1915 at Shorncliffe, England, at the age of 23, naming his next-of kin as Mrs. L. Donnan of Aualoga, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was not married and that his trade was that of Stone Cutter. He was later transferred as a reinforcement to the 8th Infantry Battalion "The Black Devils"/"90th Winnipeg Rifles" in the French theatre.
