A Service Summary Report for 6th North SS Division Member; Aldinger was born in Fellbach on March 5th, 1922. He worked as a carpenter and was unmarried. He joined the SS in April 1940, and was officially sworn in to the 6th Division “North” on May 25th, 1942. He received special training with the 1.FH 18 Howitzer, the Kl-5 Pistol, the MG34, the Machine Pistol, 98K Rifle, and Stalk Hand Grenade. In June 1941 he was engaged in battle around the fortifications of Salla in the far north. He spent the rest of the war engaged in skirmishes and defensive battles in northern Finland and Karelia in Russia. On March 28th, 1943he suffered a contusion to his left knee and injured his meniscus. For that he was awarded a Wound Badge in Black. He was also awarded an Eastern Front Medal. In April of 1941 he was promoted to the rank of Sturmmann, and 7 months later he was made an Unterscharfuhrer. His service summary was written and notarized in the field on August 1st, 1943
