Footnote: Lester Ancel Woodin was born on December 23, 1888 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He signed his Attestation Paper on November 3, 1915, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 27, naming his next-of-kin as his wife, Mrs. L.A. (Daisy F.) Woodin of Halifax, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was Married and that his trade was that of Chartered Accountant. Woodin was sent to France, spending ten days on leave in Paris from September 18 to 28, 1917, before being posted to No. 7 Stationary Hospital in Boulogne on October 1st. He survived the war.
