A 1914 German Military Balloon Procession Medal - Bronze gilt, maker marked "W. SAUERWEIN MAINZ" on the bottom edge, illustrating a procession of various airships flying over Mainz and the River Rhine, inside a circular frame of leaves, inscribed "KRIEGSMASSIGE / BALLONVERFOLGUNG / MAINZ / JUNI 1914" with a branch of oak leaves below, 50 mm x 85 mm, scattered gilt wear and spotting, edge nicks, better than very fine.
