A Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross 1939 by Klein & Quenzer; Iron/magnetic core, silver frame, 48.44mm(width) x 48.89mm(height), weighs (without ribbon) 34.9 grams; marked “800” on reverse, loop marked “800” and “65”; textbook example with all the features of Klein & Quenzer cross, in worn condition, very fine; with original long ribbon with two snaps (aprox. 44cm long). Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity by Dietrich Maerz. Footnote: This cross was brought to Canada by a member of the British Engineers. While stationed in Hamburg in 1945, the cross was traded for a single package of cigarettes.
