Ed., and LRCS, Ed., Bengal Medical Department, 1868-1895. (Assistant Surgeon in the Photograph). He was an Assistant Surgeon on 1st of April 1868 and then Surgeon Major on the 1st of April 1880 and Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel on the 1st of April 1888. His first duty is an Officiating Surgeon for the 18th Bengal Native Infantry. From 1873-1875, he served as a Civil Surgeon in Seoni, India. From 1876 to 1879, he served as the Civil and Jail Surgeon for Seoni. From 1880 to 1885, Surgeon Major Benjamin serves first as Civil, then from 1881 as Civil and Jail Surgeon for Wandha, India. In 1888, he was Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians (LRCP) and a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons (LRCS) and served as Civil Surgeon and Superintendent of the Raipur Central Jail. 1893 to 1895 he was a Civil Surgeon in Raipur. He is not on the 1896 Army List and appears to have retired from the Bengal Medical Department with 28 years service.
