Naming on the four Stars and the War Medal is privately engraved, officially impressed on the Korea Medal, the UNKM is un-named. Court mounted, original ribbons, extremely fine. Accompanied by a duotang folder with his military biography and three black and white ship photographs. Footnote: Philip John Paterson Conchie had a career with the Royal Navy that spanned over twenty years. He completed an advanced course in Marine Engineering and was a Member on the Institute of Marine Engineers. Conchiebegan his naval service on July 1, 1941, as a Warrant Engineer, aboard the Aircraft Carrier H.M.S. Implacable, which saw service during the Second World War in the North Atlantic, Burmese and Italian theatres. After the war, he was named a Commissioned Engineer on April 1, 1946 and left Implacable in 1950, assigned to H.M.S. President, the Shore Base at London in 1950 and later achieved the ranks of Senior Commissioned Engineer and Engineer Lieutenant (M.E.) on April 1, 1952. During the Korean conflict in 1953, he saw service on the Destroyer H.M.S. Cossack. Upon returning from Korea, he was posted to H.M.S. Caledonia, the Royal Naval Air Training Establishment at Rosyth in 1954, then transferred to H.M.S. Victory, the Shore Base at Portsmouth in 1955. Two years later, he was assigned to the Black Swan-Class Sloop H.M.S. Starling in 1957, then returned to H.M.S. President in 1959, where he was elevated to the rank of Engineer Lieutenant Commander (M.E.) on April 1st. Conchie returned to H.M.S. Victory in 1962 and would finish his naval career there, retiring from active service on April 27, 1963, as mentioned under "State Intelligence" in the London Gazette 43075 of Tuesday, August 6, 1963, page 6639. As of July 1972, he was still listed as being on the General Purposes Committee of the Pyrford Cricket Club, Pyrford, Surrey, England.
