Footnote: Awarded to aspirants (officer candidates), non-commissioned officers and enlisted men, chiefs of states and general officers, for feats of arms of distinction in bravery of devotion to duty, seniority, or professional conscientiousness, or specifically for citation at the Armed Forces level, or for wounds in combat, heroism, and for thirteen years' distinguished honourable service.
