He was a resident of Leamington, Ontario, when he received his Military Service Act Letter, numbered 749450 AC. He signed his Particulars of Recruit Drafted Under Military Service Act 1917 Paper on January 7, 1918, at No. 1 Military District in London, Ontario, at the age of 31, naming his next-of-kin as his father, Percival Leamon of Parkhurst, Sussex, England, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was single and that his trade was that of Farmer.
