An Order of Military Merit; Grand Cross by Johann Schwerdtner

A Bulgarian Order of Military Merit; Grand Cross by Johann Schwerdtner - First Class Star in silver, silver gilt and finely executed red, green, and white enamels, 97mm, centre marked on reverse Johann Schwerdtner Wein, silver exhibiting some toning, with only minor loss to centre white enamels, better than extremely fine. Badge in silver gilt with red and green enameling, with swords and crown, measuring 73mm (width) x 109 mm (height inclusive of crown suspension),on full length period sash, near mint.  Both housed in a large period box of issue with strong coat-of-arms on obverse and corresponding Johann Schwerdtner Wein makers marked on interior of lid; only single catch, with strong hinge, case stands in very fine order.
