Two Second War Indian Cap Badges - 1st Punjab Regiment Cap Badge (two-piece construction, darkened bronze, unmarked, 36.3 mm x 43.7 mm, missing its attachments); and Indian Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Cap Badge (die-cast bronze, unmarked, 38 mm x 45 mm, intact lugs). Light contact and surface wear, better than very fine. Footnote: The 1st Punjab Regiment was a regiment of the British Indian Army from 1922 to 1947. It was transferred to the Pakistan Army upon independence in 1947, and amalgamated with the 14th, 15th and 16th Punjab Regiments in 1956, to form the Punjab Regiment. During the Second World War, the 1st Punjab Regiment suffered a total of 5,510 casualties, including 1,291 killed. The 2nd Battalion received more gallantry awards than any other unit of the Indian Army. These included a posthumous Victoria Cross to Subedar Ram Sarup Singh for gallantry in action on Kennedy Peak in Burma in 1944. The Indian Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers were also active during the Second World War.
