An American Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor; Type 1 - In toned bronze, three-piece construction with an original and early American flag variation ribbon, unnamed, 53 mm x 67 mm inclusive of eagle with crossed cannons and cannonballs suspension, bronze pin back hanger with U.S. shield, high relief, in extremely fine condition. Contained within an extremely rare case of issue, made by and marked Wm. Wilson & Son, linen hinge is intact, working catch, purple velvet interior, measuring 115mm x 66mm x 18mm, with sun bleaching to obverse, and stay ribbon detached, otherwise very fine condition.
