Steel helmet, magnetic, rolled edge, original apple green exterior, left side exhibiting a scuffed (Heer) eagle. The inside comes complete with its original eight-panel butterscotch-coloured leather liner, each panel with five ventilation holes, with a sixth hole at the end of each panel for the feeding of drawstring, four of the panels with a circular reinforcement on the underside, the other four having been lost to time, with part of the original leather drawstring remaining, the two ends of which are tied in a knot and fed through the sixth hole on two panel at the rear. Original two-piece leather chinstrap with aluminum buckles are affixed to the liner's steel frame, the helmet with its original pins holding the frame, the left and rear ones slightly loose. The underside of the skirt is stamped "062" on the left side and "DI148" at the rear. Measures 220 mm x 270 mm x 155 mm in height. The stitching remains intact on the leather liner but exhibits wear, crazing evident in the leather chinstrap, the original paint on the interior and exterior has experienced contact marks and surface wear, all from active use.
