British War Medal (1013185 PTE. W. VICKERS. C.F.C.); and Victory Medal (1013185 PTE. W. VICKERS. C.F.C.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, gilt wear on the VM, contact marks, very fine. Footnote: William Vickers was born on November 21, 1882 in Derby, Derbyshire, England. He was a resident of Drinkwater, Saskatchewan when he signed his Attestation Paper as a Private (1013185), on January 14, 1917, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, at the age of 34, naming his next-of-kin as his mother, Lucy Vickers of Derby, stating that he had no previous military service, that he was not married and that his trade was that of Butcher. Vickers served with the Canadian Forestry Corps and was discharged upon demobilization on January 17, 1919.
