A Scarce and Fine 1809 Spanish Talavera Cross in Gold

Finely produced in gold and enamels, measuring 23 mm (W) x 39.7 mm (H) inclusive of crown; weighing 5.9 grams; with some enamel damage and subsequent period repairs, with delicate period ribbon, fine. As often issued to British officer's who took part in the Battle of Talavera 27–28 July 1809.
