A Weimar Republic Numbered Police Gorget

Weimar Republic Period; Die-stamped brass with black enamelled lettering, "POLIZEI" in large embossed capital letters above the number "138", 67 mm x 169 mm, on later period German produced full-length bronze gilt multi-link chain, contact marks, surface wear and scattered chipping in the black enamels evident on the gorget, gilt loss evident on the chain, very fine.
