A Prussian Schutzpolizei Officer’s Belt & Buckle, 1930-1935; Published Buckle

In die stamped nickel silver (neusilber), 49mm, very well detailed, marked on reverse “L F 1931”, in very fine condition; with 45mm wide belt, of an unusual, dark olive green color, unmarked (usually these belts were black). These type of buckles were worn by Prussian Police Officer, Polizeianwärter, Polizeiwachtmeister and Polizeimeister of the Prussian Schutzpolizei, from 1930 until around 1935-37. Similar buckle is illustrated on p. 400 of Angolia’s book.

Footnote: From the collection of approximately 900 German buckles accumulated by John R. Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
