A white porcelain cross, 39.75 x 39.55mm, weighs 6.0 grams, obverse with hand painted iron cross in the center, upper arm “Leipzig”, bottom arm “1813”, and dates on left and right arms; reverse, upper arm with “Victoria”, lower arm “1814”, and dates on left and right arms; edges of the cross in golden color; in very fine condition and very rare. Footnote: inscriptions, cross and golden frame were painted, then glazed, and then baked. This cross commemorates Battle of Leipzig, 16–19 October 1813, in Saxony, when Allied forces defeated Napoleon, as well as further Campaign in France in 1814, when finally,Napoleon was forced to abdicate and was exiled to Elba in May 1814. This cross is issued around the same time as was Prussian 1813 Iron Cross.
