A Rare Late Weimar Republic Army Chaplin's Brocade Belt and Buckle

A two-piece construction buckle, in silvered nickel with unmarked reverse, illustrating a Christian cross fronting an eight-pointed star with emanating rays with the inscription "MIT GOTT FÜR GOTT" (With God, For God), surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves, the buckle measuring 48 mm, with matching receiving clip on the left end. Belt is fabricated from a fine aluminum wire in a thatched pattern with two rows of black embroidered interlaced with aluminum wire on the upper, olive green corduroy backer, smooth finished brown leather tab stitched in place on the underside at the left end, the tab with eight rows of two holes each for length adjustment, the pair of holes at the stitched end having been added by the wearer, marked "100" in pencil on the underside, two sliders on the belt and measuring 42 mm x 1,100 mm. Scattered fabric interruption on the upper, light wear evident on the backer. Near extremely fine.
