Exterior fabricated from black wool, a 19.3 mm x 49.5 mm die-stamped gilt metal Kreigsmarine eagle stickpin on the peak, a 21 mm silvered and black metal cockade with a red felt centre below, the tally ribbon in black rayon with lettering in fine gold-coloured bullion wire inscribed "Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Spee", inside with a leather sweatband, its ends sewn together at the rear and incorporating a blue bow-tied ribbon, the sweatband dual stamped in black ink "3350" on the left underside, ultramarine blue rayon lining in the sidewalls and dome, faded maker's mark in the dome, 280 mm x 275 mm x 100 mm in height, light crazing and wear in the sweatband from active use, without interruption in the fabrics, extremely fine.
