A Reich Labour Service RAD District 14 (Gau XIV) at Halle-Merseburg Pennant

(Reichsarbeitsdienst = RAD): Two five-sided red rayon fields sewn back-to-back, with a reinforcing suspension bar sewn between the two panels along the top edge, the obverse panel with a black embroidered Reich Labour Service (Reichsarbeitsdienst = RAD) insignia on a circular pearl white synthetic silken field in the centre, the outer edge of the circle trimmed in black embroidery, inscribed in black embroidery "Arbeit adelt" above and "XIV" below the circle, edges trimmed in thatched gold-coloured bullion wire, with a strand of gold-coloured bullion wire attached to the two upper corners and tied with a loop in the centre of the strand for wall hanging, a tassel in gold-coloured bullion wire attached at the projecting point at the base, the neck of the tassel housing fourteen strands which forms the fringe, the reverse panel is blank, measuring 185 mm x 268 mm not including the wall hanging strand and tassel. Very light age discolouration. Extremely fine.
