An Unidentified Steel Buckle; Published Example

Buckle in die pressed steel, magnetic, with matte/aluminum paint finish, 63mm x47mm, high raised and very well detailed center face plate, affixed to plain field by four prongs, unmarked; in mint condition. Probably a pattern/trial piece, most likely mid War production. Illustrated on page 587 of Angolia’s book; and extremely are pattern buckle.

Angolia, who start collecting buckles, belts and brocades from 1944 until around 1990; most of the buckles were obtained from the American and German veterans; most of these buckles present a core of Angolia’s book “Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich”, published in 2001.
